Size and Abundance

Classes: Size, Abundance and Root Abundance

The size and abundance of features in the soil can be described using measurements or percentages, or by using size or abundance class names.

Structure and mottles are two common examples where size and abundance classes are used, e.g. Abundant very fine mottles.

The names and class ranges for size and abundance are presented in the accompanying tables.

These classes are used for most features except gravel and boulders which have their own set of class names.

Root Abundance:

Root abundance also has its own set of class names.
